Winter

The Grand Massif ski area comprises the interlinked villages of Samoëns, Flaine, Morillon, Sixt, and Les Carroz. The slopes rise to 2600m and has a superb snow sure record. There are 265 km's of downhill pisted slopes for skiers of all abilities, and countless more kilometres of off-piste for the more adventurous! Two stunning runs not to be missed are the ‘Combe de Gers’; a fantastic black run in a wide open bowl and for those who like a challenge; and the beautiful 14km long blue ‘Cascade’ running down to the village of Sixt. Snowboarders are also very well catered for with numerous tailor-made ‘jamparks’. There is easy access to this alpine playground from the new Grand massif Express gondola which departs from Samoens. Additionally, there are over 90km of well maintained cross country trails, and 60km of marked tracks for snow shoeing through the local forests. The après ski is relaxed and friendly with plenty of traditional Savoyard bars and restaurants on the mountain or in the village.

Ferme du Ciel has a minibus and we are happy to drop you off and pick you up at the lifts or any other pre-arranged location.

In case you fancy a change or are not a skier, there are countless other activities available in the area. These include paragliding, dog sleighing, ice climbing, alpine walking, guided heritage tours - to name but a few! Equally you may wish to explore the town where there are numerous shops, cafes and bars to enjoy a warming chocolate chaud, or vin chaud, a weekly market, and the beautiful alpine
botanical garden to explore.
