Taking a day trip to Les Gets? 3 exciting things you must do!

Samoens is a great place to spend time – whether you head over in Summer or Winter. With a huge range of activities and a warm welcome whenever you arrive, it is one of the best places in France for a family-friendly luxury holiday. Of course, if you are staying for a while, you might fancy heading out of the village sometimes to see other places in the area. A popular day trip many make is visiting Les Gets. This is another ski resort in Haute Savoie and is only a 20-minute car/taxi ride from Samoens.

But what are the top things to see and do when there?

Chill out at a spa

When on a day out from Samoens, you might feel like getting a total break from the slopes. A great way to do this is booking into one of the many spas Les Gets contains. Whether you opt for a massage, a facial or simply unwind in the spa itself, it is a great way to give your body a rest from the rigours of skiing.

Check out the main street

Les Gets is a very pretty village and has a charming main street to explore. There is a good selection of artisan shops here for example and they sell tasty local food and other goods to buy. There is also a lovely Farmers Market in Les Gets which takes place every Thursday from 8 am to 12 pm.

Notre Dame de la Nativite church

If you fancy fitting in a bit of culture, a visit to Notre Dame de la Nativite church is advised. The church itself is an impressive structure but it is perhaps best known for the organ it contains. This is a mechanical automatic philharmonic organ that has 1000 pipes. During Les Gets cultural season, it can be heard in concert each Tuesday.
